Canonical Voice
"You know, when I first met you, I thought you were so _______." This can be a scary thing to hear, but many of us wish we could learn how we come across to others when we talk.

This project explores how we’re “read” by others when we speak—our perceived traits, attributes, and personalities. Using speech samples from nearly 200 speakers, we asked listeners to rate each speaker in terms of their personal attributes (e.g., personality traits, education).

What we learned is that people might not be right about you, but they tend to agree!

It's what separates clinicians from technicians and it's the big hurdle AI models will need to scale before it can perform like humans in behavioral health.
