Meet Leah B. Helou, PhD, CCC-SLP

Scientist. Clinician. Coach. Communicator.

I bring a unique blend of scientific rigor and human-centered coaching to every client relationship. With formal training in clinical speech-language pathology and postdoctoral research training in neurobiology, I understand that communication isn’t just as a skill, it’s a system—one deeply connected to identity, emotion, and physiology.

I have spent over 20 years helping individuals transform the way they use their voice and words—from clients with voice disorders to those navigating public perception. At the University of Pittsburgh, my research examines how factors such as stress, individual authenticity, and personality impact the voice and vocal motor behaviors.

My Philosophy

The way you communicate should feel like an extension of self, not a performance. My work centers on helping you discover a manner of communication that aligns with who you are instead of trying to be who others expect you to be.

My Style

Think velvet over brick. I’m direct, strategic, and unafraid to dive deep, though I always lead with empathy and respect. I will apply my reflective and creative thinking to help you tap into yours, so we can together co-create your best communication approach.
